DAY 1 - Nairobi
Day at leisure enjoy the many optional attractions and activities available in Nairobi. Clients will meet at 18h30 for a pre-departure meeting at Silver Springs Hotel. All meals will be for your own account.

DAY 2 - Nairobi - Arusha (300 km - 7 hours)
We depart early and make our way from Nairobi and over the border into Tanzania. Your guides will assist with all formalities and after clearing customs and immigration we'll be on our way to Arusha the gateway into the Ngorongoro and Serengeti National Parks. Arusha is a fairly developed and large town, and known as the 'safari capital of Tanzania'. Upon arrival at our camp in Arusha we will have a full brief on the days ahead so you are prepared for your excursion into the Serengeti and Ngorongoro National Parks. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

DAYS 3 - 5 - Arusha - Excursion to Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro Crater National Park (7 ½ hours outbound - 5 ½ hours return journey)
The Serengeti National Park is world renowned for the great wildebeest migrations and never ending tragedies and joys which accompany them. We also visit the Ngorongoro National Park, the largest unbroken caldera in the world, it plays host to up to 25,000 larger mammals and 100 species of birds. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.
Day 3 will be an early start as we depart at 08h00 am from the camp and head for Serengeti National Park. There will be game viewing en route, and our overnight camp. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included. CAMPING
On Day 4 we do an early morning game drive in the Serengeti and after lunch head for the Ngorongoro National Park and crater rim for our overnight camp. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included. CAMPING
On Day 5 we will do a morning tour of the Crater, and in the afternoon return to Arusha for our overnight camp. Breakfast and Lunch included. CAMPING
DAY 6 - Arusha - Dar es Salaam (650 km - 11 hours)
We proceed to Dar es Salaam (The haven of peace) and set up our camp on the beach. En-route you have the chance of viewing the highest mountain in Africa, the world famous Mount Kilimanjaro. You also drive past Sisal plantations, one of Tanzania's major exports. Once in Dar, you will be briefed by your guides on the ferry trip to the fabulous Island of Zanzibar. Breakfast and lunch included. Dinner will be for your own account.

DAYS 7 - 9 - Zanzibar Island (40 km by sea 2 ½ hours)
Today your guides will make arrangements for the ferry trip to Zanzibar Island. Depending on the weather conditions, the journey should take between 2 to 3 hours. A WildLife Adventures guide will accompany you for the duration of your stay on the island and to assist with immigration and customs formalities. The little Indian Ocean Island of Zanzibar is a cultural melting pot of African, Arabic and Indian cultures. It is renowned for its spice and (never to be forgotten) slave trade. We have two full days to explore this island with its turquoise waters and beautiful palm fringed beaches. Perhaps take an optional boat trip to snorkel with the dolphins or catch a glimpse of the very rare Red Colubus monkey. Breakfast included. All other meals will be for your own account.

DAY 10 - Dar es Salaam (40 km by sea)
We depart the hotel for the harbour and proceed through customs and immigration, board our ferry and return to our vehicle in Dar es Salaam. Breakfast and dinner included. Lunch will be for your own account.

DAY 11 - Dar - Kisolonza Farm, Iringa (505 km - 11 hours)
Early morning departure as we leave the coastal city of Dar es Salaam behind us as we travel to Iringa. We will travel through Mikumi National Park for 75km where game can be spotted on route as well as through Baobab Valley. Iringa is famous for the timber industry and we travel through miles of pine forests before reaching our campsite late in the afternoon. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

DAY 12 - Iringa - Lake Malawi - Chiweta (810 km - 12 ½ hours)
*note there is an hour difference in time between Tanzania and Malawi, you gain 1 hour on entering Malawi. Today we cross into Malawi known throughout the world as the warm heart of Africa. The Malawian's are know for there friendly nature and warm hospitality. We will stop at several camps on the breathtaking Lake Malawi. This freshwater lake stretches the whole length of Malawi and is the lifeline of the country. Over 650 species of fish are found in the lake and new species are being discovered every year. Rural fishing villages line the shoreline and you are free to explore them. We travel down the lake stopping at carefully selected camps. Very near to Chiweta is the Livingstonia Plateau home to the mission that was built by Scottish missionaries in 1894. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

DAY 13 - Lake Malawi - Chiweta - Chinteche (250 km - 4 ½ hours)
Our journey continues down the lake to beautiful rural Chintheche, where we camp close to the shoreline. The area known as the Chinteche peninsula is one of the most scenic areas in Malawi. There is the opportunity to do an optional transfer by boat further north up the lake to Nkhata Bay or Kande beach. Breakfast and lunch included.

DAYS 14 & 15 - Chinteche - Senga Bay (237 km - 5 hours)
We proceed to Salima and Senga Bay. Today we travel through Nkhotakota, the oldest market town in Africa. We arrive at our camp around mid day, giving you the afternoon free to swim, enjoy optional water sports or relax. The following day you can plan several activities such as a village tour or an optional boat tour or just decide to relax at the lake shore with a good book. Breakfast lunch and dinner included.

DAYS 16 & 17 - Zambia - South Luangwa National Park (250 km - 8 ½ hours)
Heading south into Zambia, we visit the awesome South Luangwa National Park notably one of Africa's best-kept secrets. With over 9000 sq km of pristine wilderness, South Luangwa is teeming with over 47 animal species - herds of buffalo, elephant, zebra, hyena, jackal, 15 different antelope and the endemic Cookson's wildebeest and Thornicroft's Giraffe. We will enjoy 2 included game drives into the park one will be approx. a 4-hour drive starting at 06h30 am and slightly later during winter. The second game drive will on the evening of the same day departure time will be approx 16h00 pm. Once it gets dark we will make use of a spotlight to track down nocturnal species such as leopard, hyena and spotted genets. We return to camp at approximately 20h00pm where an already prepared welcome dinner awaits. Flatdogs camp is well situated on the banks of the Luangwa River a good chance to view hippo and crocodile. Breakfast and lunch on Day 16. Breakfast, lunch and dinner on Day 17. Dinner on Day 16 will be for your own account.

DAY 18 - South Luangua towards Petauke (drive till just before sunset)
We depart South Luangwa on classic African roads through some pristine Zambian bush for our African village camp. This is a wonderful way to catch a glimpse of rural life in Zambia, as we literally camp inside the village. Cultural exchanges abound and these camps are always a highlight. We choose these stops very carefully in conjunction with the chiefs of each village or the headmaster of the picked school. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

DAY 19 - Petauke - Lusaka (Depends on the previous day km's done)
We proceed to our camp near Lusaka and camp on the outskirts of the city in a privately owned rest camp. Game can sometimes be seen in the camp in the evenings grazing on the grass. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

DAY 20 - Lusaka - Victoria Falls (485 km - 8 hours)
Today we are bound for Victoria Falls - one of the 'seven natural wonders' of the world. You are free to explore it at your leisure. Take a sundowner cruise or enjoy hoards of other adventure activities. Breakfast and lunch included.

DAY 21 - Victoria Falls
The spectacular Victoria Falls is one of the "Seven Natural Wonders" of the world. Explore it at your leisure. If you are an adventure lover this is the place for you! Take a sun downer cruise or enjoy hoards of other adrenalin activities. Our camp is located in the village centre.
On Day 21, clients should meet at the Victoria Falls Rest Camp at 18h30 pm for the pre-departure meeting. PLEASE LOOK FOR THE WILDLIFE ADVENTURES SIGN IN THE RECEPTION AREA OF THE HOTEL FOR MORE INFORMATION WITH REGARDS TO THE WHEREABOUTS OF THE MEETING. This meeting is to inform you about the second and final leg of their trip. In Vic Falls some people will be getting off the truck while others will be joining. You will most probably be getting new crew members and a new truck to continue your journey down south to Cape Town. This meeting will give you all a chance to meet your fellow travellers and get to know your guides. The meeting will cover all the aspects of the trip. Please bring with you to this meeting: your passport with relevant visa's and evidence of medical and personal insurance. Breakfast included.

DAY 22 - Chobe National Park (90 km - 2 hours)
Departing Victoria Falls we head for Botswana and our first border crossing. Your guides will help with all the border formalities and once through a short drive to Kasane takes us to our camp situated right on the banks of the Chobe River. Chobe National Park is home to some of the largest herds of elephant in Africa. In the afternoon we will go on an included guided river cruise for some game viewing. Breakfast and lunch included.

DAY 23 - Maun (606 km - 7 hours)
Departing Chobe we travel through Botswana. Today is a long day's travelling, so be prepared. We arrive in the little town of Maun, which is the gateway to the Okavango Delta. Our camp is just outside of town. In the evening there will be a full briefing on what to expect and pack for the delta excursion. Please remember space in the "makoros" (local word for canoe - and your mode of transport into the Delta) is at a premium and a small overnight bag with your sleeping bag and necessary clothes for 2 days is all that is needed. Breakfast and lunch only. Dinner is to your own account.

DAYS 24 & 25 - Okavango Delta
An early morning pickup awaits us at the camp where we will be transferred to the "makoro" poling station by vehicle. We will be assigned our makoro - each complete with poler /guide. After a two to three hour relaxing journey into the delta we will set up camp. The Delta is an incredible maze of inland waterways and lagoons. We'll be on safari 'makoro' style, poled gently along in canoes, hand hewn from logs, floating through this haven of wildlife and birds. Your poler guides will also take you on game walks to experience the full splendour of the region. Please note that there are no ablution facilities and camps will be bush camps. Meals will be carefully planned for this duration. Breakfast, lunch, dinner included.

DAY 26 - Maun
After breakfast we are gently poled back to the vehicle pick up point and transferred by vehicle back to our camp in Maun. Breakfast, lunch, dinner included.

DAY 27 - Gobabis (580 km - 10 hours)
We travel and cross the border into Namibia and proceed to Gobabis where we will overnight on a private game farm. This is our first night in Namibia and a fitting place to hear fireside tales of your journey so far and discuss the days ahead. Breakfast and lunch included.

DAY 28 - Waterberg Plateau National Park (580 km - 8 ½ hours)
"Hippo Trail" and "Dunes and Cape Safari" are modules of "The Southern Skies" tour, and all clients booked on this module will be dropped off/collected in Windhoek before the tour continues. We leave Gobabis and travel to Waterberg Plateau National Park. Waterberg Plateau is historically significant because it was the site of the war between the Germans and the Hereros. Now the area has become a haven for many endangered species. It is renowned for incredible rock formations and walks. Your time in the Waterberg is your own and you are free to walk in the park at your leisure. Optional game drives and guided walks are available. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

DAYS 29 & 30 - Etosha National Park (260 km - 5 hours)
Etosha National Park is Namibia's premier game park. Dominated by shimmering white saltpans you have a chance to see elephant as well as black rhino, lion and leopard. Most camps have floodlit water holes, which are excellent for after dinner game viewing, as well as swimming pools for cooling off during the heat of the day. We will enjoy 3 game drives whilst at Etosha all taken in the WildLife Adventures vehicle. Typically we will make an early start, ideal for morning game viewing, and drive to some of the waterholes in the park before heading back to camp for brunch. Approximately 3 hours per game drive. In the afternoons we will take another game drive and return to camp before dark for dinner. Breakfast, lunch and dinner on Day 29. Breakfast and lunch on Day 30.

DAYS 31 & 32 - Swakopmund (515 km - 9 hours)
Leaving Etosha we journey to Swakopmund, a delightful Bavarian-style town, situated snugly between sea and desert. There are great beaches, activities such as deep-sea fishing, quad biking and dune boarding plus an array of shops, bars and restaurants. In Swakopmund you are free to explore at your leisure or partake in the many optional activities. This is also a chance to catch up on laundry, banks and communications. Breakfast and lunch only on Day 31. Breakfast only on Day 32.

DAYS 33 & 34 - The Namib Naukluft National Park (350 km - 5 hours)
We continue on to The Namib Naukluft National Park and the giant sand dunes of Sossusvlei. This is one of the world's oldest deserts, offering over 130 million years of natural wonder, and the highest sand dunes in the world!! Climb the dunes for an unforgettable sunrise. Optional adventure activities including guided walks, hot air ballooning and light aircraft flights. On day 34 we leave the camp very early and travel into the park. We head for Dune 45 and climb the dune for a magnificent sunrise, after which we proceed on to Sossusvlei and the 2x4 parking area. From here it is an approximate 5 km walk to the vlei where you are free to explore. There is an option for a guided walk (this is to the clients own expense). Stunning photographic opportunities are available in the dunes. In the late afternoon you will be taken to the nearby Sesriem canyon and return to camp for the evening meal. There is a small swimming pool at the camp if you wish to relax and soak up the sun. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

DAY 35 - The Fish River Canyon (500 km - 8 hours)
We head for the awesome Fish River Canyon. There will be time to take in a beautiful sunset over the canyon, or partake in an optional walk along the rim of the canyon. Breakfast and lunch included.

DAY 36 - The Gariep River (220 km - 2 ½ hours)
We border cross into South Africa and head for our camp on the riverbank. You will have the opportunity to partake in an optional canoe safari or just relax at the riverside bar. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

DAY 37 - Lamberts Bay (450 km - 6 hours)
We depart for Lambert's Bay and our camp. Here you have the option of visiting the well-known "Bird Island" (own expense). Breakfast and lunch included.

DAYS 38 & 39 - Cape Town (250 km - 5 hours)
Sample the sights and sounds of this magical city at the Southern end of the African continent. A host of optional activities are available including, trips to Robben Island, Peninsula tours, wine tasting, and much more. Please ask WildLife Adventures or your tour leader for assistance in booking these excursions. Breakfast included, all other meals in Cape Town will be to the client's expense.
