[die Tourbeschreibung ist momentan nur auf Englisch verfügbar]
Day 1:
Bangkok, The Bridge Over The River Kwai and Jungle Rafts. After our pre departure meeting, we leave Bangkok and drive to Kanchanaburi where we arrive in time for lunch. After lunch, we visit the world famous Bridge over the River Kwai. Kanchanaburi is a provincial capital city, rich in 20th century history and set in lush landscape on the banks of the river and framed with limestone hills. During the Second World War Kanchanaburi was the site of a massive prison camp, run by the Japanese. Allied prisoners were forced to build a railway over the River Kwai and into Burma. The story is told in one of cinemas great classics. We also take time to visit the JEATH Museum and the War Cemetary.
Later in the afternoon, we take the local train along the Hellfire Railway to Nam Tok Station. Accommodation here is on a full board basis, and so all meals are included.
